Secondary vesical calculus formation due to intravesical migration of contraceptive device, a case report.
Abstract
Intrauterine contraceptive device migration to urinary bladder is a rare but serious complication. We report a case where a 50 years old female presented with burning micturition found to have a large vesical stone over a migrated IUCD. The stone and IUCD were managed later via endoscopic procedure. The case highlights the importance of considering IUCD migration in women with lower urinary tract symptoms having history of IUCD insertion.
