Knowledge of PCOs among Medical and Nursing students of Wah Medical College. Wah Cantt.

Objective: The objective of the study is to assess the knowledge of polycystic ovarian syndrome in medical and nursing students of Wah Medical College (WMC). Study Design: Cross-Sectional Study. Place and Duration of study: We carried out the study at Wah Medical College (WMC) and Institute of Nursing Wah Medical College from19th Feb 2022 – 16th May 2022. Materials and Methods: A pretested self-formulated questionnaire was used for study. A total of 100 students, 50 female students of Wah Medical College and 50 female students of Institute of Nursing Wah Medical College, wah cantt were taken as sample. Data analysis: Data was entered and analyzed in SPSS version 23 frequency tables and charts will be constructed and significant difference in knowledge will be assessed by using Chi-square test at an alpha value of 0.05. Results: The response rate was 96% in which 48 (50%) are female students of wah medical college and 48 (50%) are female nursing students. Both the student’s group have approximately same good knowledge about PCOs i.e. 63% and 67% respectively. No significant difference was found in the level of knowledge between medical and nursing students. Conclusion: The nursing and medical students were having good knowledge about polycystic ovarian syndrome with this they can play a vital role in transmitting information to the community. They can be utilized not only for knowledge transfer but also for removing the myths and misconceptions related to the disease in the general public.
